NDIS Services at Hands of Angels:

Supported Independent Living (SIL) Services

Designed to empower individuals with disabilities by providing the necessary support to live independently in their own homes. Meeting the unique needs of each participant.

What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

Supported Independent Living refers to the supports and services provided to help people with significant functional impairments live independently in their own homes, rather than in institutional settings or family homes. These services are focused on enhancing the participant’s skills and abilities to manage day-to-day life.

Our SIL Services include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with daily personal activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to promote independence while ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Household Management: Help with cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a household, enabling participants to enjoy a clean and organized living environment.
  • Health Care: Coordination and support with medication management, appointments with health professionals, and implementation of health care plans.
  • Community Engagement: Support to engage with community activities, maintain social relationships, and participate in local events.
  • Skill Development: Training and support to develop skills needed for daily living and independence, such as budgeting, shopping, and using public transport.

How SIL Works?

  • Customized Support Plans: We start with a comprehensive assessment to understand each participant’s specific needs and preferences. Based on this assessment, a personalized support plan is developed.
  • Flexible and Responsive Care: Our support adapts to the changing needs of participants over time, ensuring that the support remains appropriate as circumstances change.
  • Empowered Decision-Making: Participants are encouraged and supported to make their own decisions regarding the management of their home and the care they receive.
